THESPY’S RULES AND ROYALTIES
Educational Theatre Association – Rights & Licensing (secure-platform.com)
According to ITF, the theatrical licensing companies will be requiring that you perform only material that is licensed and given permission to do. You will find the companies listed in the link above. There is also a green light list for specific authors and a red light list for specific authors. Shows that do not have representation currently will not qualify to move to the State Festival.

This opening of the school’s workshop will provide an overview of theatre performance opportunities, assessment information, and instructional resources for the upcoming school year. Teachers will have breakout sessions where they will participate in hands on workshops that cover various instructional techniques to support their theatre curriculum and lessons.

This workshop will be presented by District 8 Thespians board. The PD day will provide several sessions that will enhance theater education programs. In addition, they will cover an overview of theatre performance opportunities, assessment information, and instructional resources for the upcoming school year. Teachers will have breakout sessions where they will participate in hands on workshops that cover various instructional techniques and best practices to support their theatre curriculum and lessons. Session topics include, lesson planning, assessment, mental health, productions, parent communication, Admin support, collaboration, forms and paperwork, competitions, clubs, fundraisers and professional development opportunities.
CONGRATS TO ALL THESPYS PARTICIPANTS
NOVEMBER 16-19, 2022 WE HELD OUR DISTRICT 8 ONE ACT FESTIVAL AND THESPYS AT HIALEAH HIGH SCHOOL AND THE MIAMI AIRPORT CONVENTION CENTER.
With 50 schools and over 1500 students attending, it was a theatrical success. Big congratulations to the whole population of District 8 for bringing your passion for theatre and the arts alive is such a beautiful way! From the whole administrative team, we humbly thank you for your participation.

WE NEED TO PICK TWO STATE REPRESENTATIVES: ONE IN PERFORMANCE AND ONE IN TECH to represtent District 8 at the Opening Ceremonies at the Florida State Thespian Festival.

- Make sure you video is clear and your students can be heard.
- No editing and adding cuts. Video should be from the front and in one take.
